Wethersfield Estate is an economic engine for the Northern Dutchess County Region and beyond…..Since our opening in 1990, Wethersfield has provided local communities and organizations with substantial financial support in the form of direct grants. Wethersfield Estate also provides a diverse collection of educational and cultural opportunities for the greater community. The Estate employs a staff of ten full-time employees and supplements the permanent staff with eight summer employees. The Estate also sources its materials and supplies locally and employees local tradesmen on a regular basis to help maintain our many buildings.
Ranging from general admission, to special programs, and benefit events, Wethersfield has welcomed over 64,000 visitors since its opening to the public.
Over the years, we have provided significant financial help to local beneficiaries. Under the banners of community organizations, conservation, education, and the arts, the grant amounts total over $5,000,000.
