"All the Presidents' Gardens"

Friends of Wethersfield cordially invite you to a garden lecture and reception (rain or shine) on Saturday, Sept 9th at 5 pm, Everyone is welcome.
Marta McDowell teaches landscape history and horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden and consults for private clients and public gardens. Timber Press published All the Presidents' Gardens, which made the New York Times bestseller list and won a 2017 American Horticultural Society book award. Beatrix Potter’s Gardening Life, won a 2014 Gold Award from the Garden Writers Association. Her first book, Emily Dickinson’s Gardens, came out in 2005. She has just completed a new book due out September 2017 entitled The World of Laura Ingalls Wilder: The Frontier Landscapes that Inspired the Little House books.
You will find Marta both an engaging speaker as well as accomplished and prolific author. Marta has a wide command of the historical context for the Presidential gardens. She has personally visited many of them and done extensive historical research in preparation for her writing.
Light refreshments and book signing will follow the lecture.
Admission is free, compliments of the Friends of Wethersfield.
The lecture and reception will be held the Carriage House Museum at Wethersfield Garden.
